Heroes

What can we do if nothing we do matters?

As children we thought if we had been alive during the Holocaust we would be heroes. Now, across an ocean, removed from the threat of danger, equipped with information that travels much faster than it did almost a century ago we see that we are powerless. We are fat with information, but starved of power.

We are being forced, our heads held to witness a genocide. No amount of protesting, posting, crying, or screaming, is making any difference. Our outrage bounces around and goes nowhere. Our own dollars fund the genocide. The people we vote for to represent our wishes betray us and send billions of dollars to a cause they know we are against. Canola oil costs $6.69. A 12 ounce pack of bacon costs what a 16 ounce pack of bacon used to cost and since when did they even make 12 ounce packs of bacon? We are worker ants and dollar signs. We suffer in small ways while others suffer far greater and everywhere there is suffering.

The celebrities people worship most have had nothing to say about the atrocities taking place. Anybody with half a heart and an ounce of the influence these people have would take a stand. Instead, they take stands against absolutely meaningless things like the fucking Grammys. Instead, they create spectacle. Spectacle filled with inverted crosses, baphomet hand gestures, unholy crucifixes, nudity, division, just to really drive home the hell scape we are living in. We are streams, likes and views.

What can we do if nothing we do matters?

“I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted.”
